How Failure Shapes Us
You are enough. You are exactly where you are meant to be at this point in time. Never give up on the dreams that God has put on your heart. Do not be discouraged by failure, for failure is often the foundation of your success.
Here are some of the fundamental ways failure shapes us.
- Failure is a universal phenomenon. We have all failed. Maybe it was a test you took in school. Perhaps it was a project at work or a business deal that went bad. Maybe it was a relationship, or a marriage that you just couldn’t save. During these moments, it’s difficult to think about the next steps. Know that you are not alone.
- Failure builds character. It make you strong. It teaches you what it means to persevere and to and to never give up. Does that mean that failure is fun? No. Does that mean that we want to fail? No. It just means that failure gives us opportunity to learn from our mistakes.
- Failure points you in the direction of your true purpose. Life doesn’t always work out the way we planned. It’s easy to become discouraged. But God never closes one door without opening another. You will never be stuck unless you want to be. Where is your heart telling you that you need to be? What is it that you need to move toward? Listen to that.
Remember: All of the moments of your past have led to the point you are today. Embrace both your victories and your failures. They go hand in hand and know that everything in life, both good and bad, happens for a reason.
